The company was created in the Netherlands in 1926 and operated by the de Jong family. Then third-generation owner Mark de Jong moved the business to San Francisco, California, and has been serving the Bay Area since 1995. A committed crew of 10 highly skilled people, including 6 carpenters and 2 laborers, have allowed the company to pursue both commercial and residential projects, from new construction to renovation, from retrofitting projects to fire damaged homes. Bloemendal's most ambitious project is the current restoration of the historic Murphy Windmill in San Francisco Golden Gate Park.
